Where preservation and architecture come together
Our Foundation was established in 1986 to maintain and preserve the Townsend House and its historic surroundings.
The Townsend House
The Townsend House is important both as the work of a renowned architectural firm and for its place in Washington’s history.
Restoration Projects
The Foundation has funded major structural repairs and restoration of exterior features of the Townsend House, including the roof, façade, windows, gutters and marquise along with improvements of the electrical and plumbing systems and installation of fire suppression sprinklers.
The 2022 exterior restoration was completed early and under budget!
As promised, the CCHPF has used your funds prudently to preserve and restore all exterior elements of the historic Townsend house. We have completed the entire exterior restoration project as planned, early, and under budget. We will now address the deteriorated condition of the Townsend house’s main central roof as an addition to this restoration contract because its condition warrants replacement and can be funded within our original budget.
